We are glad to have you as a patron. The Van Alstyne Public Library and staff are here to meet the needs of the community with reference information, educational materials, and family entertainment. We provide top-quality books, audio-visual materials, and Internet connections for public use. We also offer a variety of services and programs for all ages. The Van Alstyne Public Library also serves as the campus library for Grayson College South Campus.

Library Cards

Grayson College students may check out materials at the Van Alstyne Public Library. In order to acquire a Van Alstyne Public Library card, GC students must present either a photo ID or a Grayson College ID.

Borrowing Periods

All books, books-on-tape/CD, CDs, and magazines may be checked out for 2 weeks with 3 renewals. Only adult patrons may check out videos and DVDs. The borrowing period is 7 days with 3 renewals.

Interlibrary Loan

Patrons in good standing may check out books through Interlibrary loan. Once a request has been entered into the system, it cannot be cancelled. If patrons fail to pick up interlibrary loan items, they are automatically charged for the postage. Patrons are responsible for the return postage of each item borrowed and for the replacement of lost or damaged items.
