The Public
Safety Office is responsible for regulating traffic and parking on
campus and for issuing parking permits.
- College Public Safety Officers monitor weather conditions at
the college and assist in activation of the weather alert sirens
when a tornado is sighted.
- Officers render assistance on vehicle lock-outs, boosting of
dead vehicle batteries, and assisting with flat tires.
- Officers also provide on site security for athletic and other
special events being held on campus.
- The College Public Safety Office prepares an annual
informational bulletin that contains information on campus crime
and arrest statistics, crime reporting procedures, crime prevention
techniques, and related campus security and safety
information.
- College Peace Officers investigate offenses, incidents,
accidents, submit reports and make arrests where required.

Parking Permits
Grayson County College Public Safety Services is now offering
online Parking Permit registration. Please disable
your Pop-up Blocker before clicking on the registration
link.
Also, when trying to fill out the Online Permit Registration, you
will need to use Internet Explorer in compatibility mode for
versions that offer it (i.e., 7, 8, 9) or else you will encounter
an error. Once you reach the Parking Permit Link, at the top of the
page immediately to the right of the search or address bar click on
the ICON that resembles a torn page (it should read "Compatibility
View").

Grayson County College employs experienced and professional
public safety officers and office staff to help create a safe
environment in which to work, learn, and play. College public
safety officers are licensed by the Texas Commission on Law
Enforcement Officer Standards and Education and are commissioned by
the college board of trustees as peace officers. Additionally, most
officers are also certified as either Emergency Care Attendants or
Emergency Medical Technicians by the Texas Department of State
Health Services and are certified as structural firefighters by the
Texas Commission on Fire Protection.
The College Public Safety Office prepares an annual
informational bulletin according to the requirements of
the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and
Campus Crime Statistics Act. This bulletin contains
information on campus crime and arrest statistics, crime reporting
procedures, crime prevention techniques and related campus security
and safety information. Any person desiring a copy of this bulletin
may do so by contacting the college public safety office or by
downloading a copy by clicking here. The public safety office also
maintains a daily log of all offenses and incidents that have been
reported on college property. Any person wishing to view the daily
activity log should contact the college public safety office during
normal business hours.
The Public Safety Office is responsible for regulating traffic
and parking on campus. All students and employees operating a
vehicle on college property must register their vehicle with the
public safety office and display a valid Grayson County College
parking permit. Exceptions for the parking permit requirement are
made for visitors who may be on campus attending an athletic or
other special event. However, all other traffic and parking

College Public Safety Officers monitor weather conditions at the
college. Upon receiving a report of a tornado moving in the
direction of the college, college public safety officers
communicate with officials of the Denison Fire Department regarding
activation of the weather alert sirens on the Main and West
Extension campuses. Once the alert sirens are sounded, all persons
should move to a designated campus shelter area. For a complete

The Public Safety Office is a service oriented organization and
offers non-traditional public safety and law enforcement services.
As a part of other services offered by the college public safety
office, Officers render assistance on vehicle lock-outs, boosting
