Portal FAQ

What is the Portal?

The GC MyPage Portal contains information about Grayson College as well as single sign on access to Campus Connect (GC’s student information system) and Canvas (GC’s learning management system). When you click the Portal link on the Grayson College homepage, you can search for courses, access your courses inside Canvas, register for classes, check your financial aid, pay your bill, and locate general information about the college, such as advising, admissions, and student life.



How do I retrieve my username to log into the Portal?

  • Click on the Portal link on the GC homepage
  • Click the yellow Help tab
  • Locate the box labeled, Email Username, and enter either your student id or your social security number
  • Click the Email Username

Your username will be emailed to the email address on file with the college. Allow up to five minutes for portal@grayson.edu to email your username and check your spam or junk mail folder for the portal@grayson.edu email if it doesn’t appear in your inbox. If you didn’t provide an email address, you may call the Help Desk for assistance.



How do I retrieve my password to log into the Portal?

Your password will be the last four (4) digits of your social security number. When those last four digits start with one or more zeros, you must drop all leading zeros and enter the last three, two, or one digits of your social security number.

You can also have your password reset and emailed to you:

  • Log into the Portal
  • Click the yellow Help tab
  • Locate the box labeled, Reset Password, and enter your username, email address, and last four digits of your social security number
  • Click Reset Password

Your new password will be emailed to the email address on file with the college. Allow up to five minutes for portal@grayson.edu to email your new password. You should also check your spam or junk mail folder for the portal@grayson.edu email if it doesn’t appear in your inbox. If you didn’t provide an email address, you may call the Help Desk for assistance.



I requested that my username be emailed to me, but the email never came. What happened?

Your username will be emailed to the email address on file with the college. Please allow up to five minutes for portal@grayson.edu to email your username. Often the emails from portal@grayson.edu are routed into either your Spam folder or your Junk Mail folder, so check those folders before you call the Help Desk.



How can I update my email address?

  • Log into the Portal
  • Click the Personal Info link at the top of the page
  • Choose the Account Info tab and enter your email address in the box labeledEmail
  • Click Save

OR

  • Log into the Portal
  • Click the yellow Help tab
  • Locate the box labeled Update Your Email Address
  • Type your email address in the space provided
  • Click Update
