BUSI 1320. Principles of Management. (3-0-3). Principles of management that have general applicability to all types of enterprises, basic management philosophy and decision making principles involved in planning, organizing, staffing, directing, and controlling. Recent concepts of management. (R)
BUSI 1340. Leadership Dynamics. (3-0-3). Theory and practice in management leadership skills including motivation, group dynamics, leader effectiveness training, active listening, assertiveness, committees, quality circles, verbal and non-verbal communication, interviewing, and performance appraisal. Interpersonal relations in business and industry. Human needs and their satisfaction. (R)
BUSI 1350. Small Business Management. (3-0-3). Approaches to planning, establishing, and operating a small business. Emphasis on location, organization and operation. Reporting procedures and concepts of general management. (R)
BUSI 1360. Business Ethics. (3-0-3). Fundamentals and analysis of major issues in business ethics. Ethical theories as applied to problems of professional ethics and decision making in the business field. (R)
BUSI 2301. Legal Environment of Business. (3-0-3). Role of law in business and society, government, regulations of business. Legal reasoning, sources of law, social policy and legal institutions, antitrust, security regulations, consumer protection, environmental laws, worker health and safety, employment discrimination, contract law, and other laws affecting business. Prerequisite: sophomore standing or consent of Business Dean. (R)
BUSI 2304. Business Communications. (3-0-3). Business letter composition using correct forceful language and form. Study of effective letters relative to inquiry, complaint, sales, credit and collection, introduction and recommendation, application and goodwill. Prerequisite: ability to type, or consent of Business Dean. (RW)
BUSI 2350. Marketing. (3-0-3). Fundamentals of the marketing concept segmentation and marketing strategy, including product mix, price, promotion and place decisions. Consideration of the general principles of successful personal selling. Prerequisite: sophomore standing or consent of Business Dean. (R)
BUSI 2360. Contemporary Management. (3-0-3). The management theories of the 1990's are explored to help students succeed in a highly competitive, international business world. Students develop quality circle facilitation skills. Parato charts, fishbone diagrams, checksheets and other data collection and analysis tools are presented. Prerequisite: sophomore standing or consent of Division Dean. (R)
BUSI 2380. Personnel Management. (3-0-3). Study of current business organizational techniques through use of principles and procedures in the management of personnel, a selection and placement of personnel compensation methods, control of working conditions, problems of morale, employee services, collective bargaining, and current developments within the field of industrial relations. Prerequisite: sophomore standing or consent of Business Dean. (R)
