Policies & Services
The mission of the Grayson College Library is to meet the appropriate informational needs of both the individual and the community, and to provide quality services and materials. The Library is committed to cooperating with other informational agencies whenever possible, as well as aspiring to continual improvement upon existing services and materials.
Current GC students, faculty, and staff may obtain a BARR library card, which may then be used to borrow materials from each of the three BARR member libraries. Students will need to provide a current student ID to initiate a new library card account.

Overdue and Lost Materials
Returning materials by the due date is your responsibility. Items may be renewed in person, over the phone, or online, as long as there are no pending requests by other patrons for the item and you have an account in good standing. Overdue fines are charged for materials returned after the due date at the rates indicated above. As a courtesy, we will send a notice when you have an item that is overdue. Please be sure that we have your current address and contact information on file so that communications may reach you in a timely manner. Overdue charges will accrue until the item is returned or deemed lost, at which point your account will be placed on hold and you will be charged for the item in question.
View Your Account Online
You may access your account online to view items you have checked out, place or check the status of a hold request, and renew items that are coming due. To access your account, all you need is your library card number and 4-digit pin. If you do not have a pin or have forgotten it, contact the library to establish or reset it.
The Main Campus Library has study rooms available for use by GC students, faculty, and staff. These are perfect for individual or group study. The small study rooms can be reserved for up to two hours at a time (1-6 users), and the large study room may be reserved for up to four hours at a time (7 or more users). A room can be reserved up to one week in advance of the requested time, and reservations can be made in-person, over the phone, or via email.
The Main Campus Library houses a computer lab that is open to both GC students and the general public. The lab is open during the Library's normal hours of operation unless it has been reserved for training or a class is scheduled. Lab reservations and classes will be noted on the "Today in the Library" calendar.
The 32 computers available are Windows 7 PCs, and feature MS Office 2013, Adobe Creative Suite, and other essential software, as well as high-speed Internet access. Printing is available through the GoPrint print management system, which allows you to send multiple print jobs to a queue where you may then pay for and retrieve them all at once. Printing is $.10 per single-sided page ($.20 for duplex) and can be paid for only with cash/coin at this time.
Scanner & Copier
The Main Campus Library has a scanning workstation as well as a Xerox copier available for student and public use. The scanning workstation may also be utilized for quick catalog or Internet searches. Copies are $.10 per single-side page ($.20 for double-sided) and can be paid for when completed at the circulation desk.
