General Banking & Bank Operations Certificates

The Business and Management Department at Grayson College offers two certificates related to  Banking:  General Banking and Bank Operations. Both are designed to prepare students for employment in the various aspects of the banking industry. The certificates may also be used by people in the banking industry to hone or expand required skills. These programs are offered through

Course Requirements

  • Grayson College requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Some of the courses require prerequisites. Refer to the GC catalog for specific information.
  • Certificates are TSI waived.

Capstone Experience

To earn a certificate in this program, all students must successfully complete a Capstone course. For the General Banking Certificate, the course is Principles of Bank Operation (BNKG 1303), and for the Bank Operations Certificate, the course is Money and Financial Markets (BNKG 1340). Both require enrolling in the Capstone course during the semester of graduation.

Financial Aid & Scholarships

Financial aid is available to eligible students enrolled in this program, including loans, grants, scholarships and work study jobs. All students should visit the Paying for College page for valuable information and resources. All students seeking financial aid must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) over the internet at (GC’s school code in Step Six is 003570) and a GC Application for Financial Aid available on the GC website on the Paying for College page. All applications should be filed by March 31st to ensure full consideration.

The Grayson College Foundation awards thousands of scholarship dollars to deserving students every year. Once you complete the FAFSA process, consider submitting an application for a scholarship.
