2012 Photo Layout 2012 Wrap-up News Release
The "Viking Challenge!" benefit golf tournament is designed to raise scholarship funds for Grayson College students. If you've never played in our tournament before, you don't know what you're missing! This year was our 16 th annual event, and we had nearly 130 golfers on the course.
The day began with a continental breakfast, a demo day by Cleveland Golf and free range balls for anyone who arrived early enough. We put in our order for "sunshine & a cool breeze", and we got just that! Golfers teed off at 11:00 and picked up their "Bonner's Burgers" on-the-fly. Everyone had an opportunity to win $10,000 in CASH at two different holes, and could enter to be selected to shoot for a hole-in-one to win a new car. As always, we had our "Team Bonner Shoot-Out!" on Hole #10. Also, we had a "Split-the-Pot" drawing, and the generous winner, Mike Goolsby, donated his prize back for the scholarship kitty!
First, second, and third place team players each got a trophy and a prize certificate to redeem in the Grayson College Golf Pro Shop. Check out the pictures to see what a great time all of our golfers were having, and how great the Grayson College Golf Course looks! We hope you'll plan to join us next fall, to help us raise funds for a very worthwhile cause.
