Curriculum Committee Minutes
The purpose of the Curriculum Committee is to review curriculum change requests and to make appropriate recommendations to the Vice President for Academic and Student Affairs. The committee seeks consensus on curriculum changes that best serve student interests in accordance with the College District mission statement and that meet the requirements of relevant accrediting bodies.
The Curriculum Committee is a College District standing committee composed of faculty and administrative representatives. Only members with faculty rank may vote on curriculum issues. The membership consists of five members each from both academic studies and workforce education. The dean of academic studies and the dean of workforce education co-chair the committee. The committee membership is composed of faculty volunteers who are selected by the Vice President for Academic and Student Affairs.
Members serve three-year terms with the terms ending on alternate years. A representative from each of the following areas serves on the committee: 1. Academic advising; 2. Financial aid; 3. Director of admissions/registrar; and 4. The Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) liaison. A student representative shall also be included on the committee, and the Vice President for Academic and Student Affairs serves as ex-officio member on the committee.
