Bill Damuth, Head Coach
Bill Damuth joins Grayson College Basketball as the head coach of the women’s team. With 24 years of coaching experience, he brings insight and understanding to the court. With a focus on recruitment, Damuth believes in the importance of finding the right talent and then developing a relationship of trust and team spirit with his athletes.
Damuth comes to Grayson from Wichita State University where he served as Assistant Coach for one year. Prior to that, he served as an assistant coach at the University of Texas at El Paso where the team won two Conference USA Championships.
At Trinity Valley Community College (TVCC), Damuth served as
Damuth left TVCC after six years to become the head coach at Hill College. He inherited a 6-24 team and proceeded to forge a record of 51-12 in two years. The squad was ranked as high as 14
He then left Hill College to take an assistant coach position at the University of Louisiana-Lafayette. He served as the program’s recruiting coordinator, and the program experienced plenty of success. A conference crown, two second-place outcomes and the school’s initial appearance in the NCAA Tournament were among the accomplishments during his tenure.
During his career, Damuth has recruited 40 first team all-conference players, 12 junior
Damuth and his wife, Michelle, have two children: Dylan and Madison.
Brandon Taylor, Assistant Coach
Brandon Taylor is in his first season as the assistant coach of the women’s team.
Prior to arriving at Grayson, Taylor spent 7 seasons at Eastern Oklahoma State College with two of those seasons as head coach producing 2 NJCAA All-Americans, and 5 Academic All-Americans. Taylor also spent two years with Texas Southern University (TSU) women's basketball.
Taylor served in coaching assistant roles with junior college power Trinity Valley Community College (TVCC). There, he gained valuable experience working with a program that boasted four straight years of conference and regional championships. TVCC advanced to the NJCAA Championships in back-to-back seasons while Taylor was with the school.
He earned his Associates of Science from TVCC and Bachelor’s Degree in Kinesiology from TSU.
A native of Nacogdoches, Texas, Taylor is engaged to Ryecea Griffis and has two children, Aspen and Emeric.
