Upon completing the Grayson College Dual Credit Medical Laboratory Technology Program, students can continue to the A.A.S. degree in Medical Laboratory Technology.

CURRICULUM

The hybrid curriculum is provided by Grayson College and consists of materials located in the Canvas Learning Management System and is complemented by hands-on lab activities on Grayson College South Campus.

SCHEDULE

Students complete online academic core coursework and an introductory clinical laboratory science course with hands-on laboratory skills instruction. The MLT curriculum offers any science-seeking student a chance to obtain the knowledge and skills required for any clinical or research lab position. These entry-level skills include quality control, laboratory math, safety, basic equipment, microscope usage, accreditation, and certification.

MLAB1201 is a hybrid course offered during each Fall semester's first eight-week term. On-campus activities scheduled during class times occur on the Van Alstyne campus.

FACILITY

Core classes are held online and face-to-face at the Denison or Van Alstyne campuses. MLT curriculum courses are offered at the Van Alstyne campus.

TSI REQUIREMENT

TSI compliance in all areas is required for MLT program application.

PREREQUISITES

None

VACCINATION REQUIREMENT

State law requires that students under the age of 22 who will attend classes on a GC campus must provide documentation of a meningococcal vaccination within the previous 5 years or a conscientious objection waiver. Students will not be enrolled without this documentation.

$89/credit hour + applicable fees

*A $50.00 lab fee is charged for MLAB1201
