Meet Shantee Siebuhr, Director of Student Life and Development
Shantee completed two Associates degrees from Weatherford College, a Bachelor of Arts in Human Development and Family Studie from AMUs, a Master of Education in Higher Education Administration and Educational Leadership from Tarleton State University, and in May of 2021, completed a certificate in Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in the Workplace from University of South Florida. Shantee has worked in Student Affairs her entire Higher Education career. She has her eyes set on a doctorate degree in the near future. Investing in students and helping them reach their goals isn't just a career for her, it is a passion. She believes that there is no better way to serve our students by partnering with people from all over campus to make sure we are meeting their needs in all areas we can.
Shantee has been married for 15 years to her high school sweetheart, who is an Army Veteran. They have nine year old twin girls and a whole mess of animals (it is quite the zoo).

What was your favorite class you took in college?
My favorite course I took in college was a Grad School Higher Ed Leadership Course. It really sparked a passion for understanding leadership styles and how to collaborate with others effectively when you may not be approaching circumstances from the same perspective. It fits with my "puppies and rainbows" philosophy that everyone has something to contribute if we just provide the opportunities and safe spaces for communication.
What is your favorite thing about Grayson College?
Everyone at Grayson has been incredibly welcoming. I didn't feel like an outsider coming in, but embraced and empowered to hit the ground running. I feel incredibly supported by my colleagues and students!

What is a fun fact about you?
I don't know if it qualifies as fun BUT, I LOVE GOATS! I own 14 miniature dairy goats and they make me so happy! I started out with just a few and they were so good for my mental health that before I knew it, I had a whole herd! Soon I will find just the right place to move my goats up to Grayson Co. with me!
What is one thing that you wish you could tell your younger self?
I would tell myself what I tell myself these days, you are enough. You will struggle, you will fail, it won't go the way you think it should - but you are enough. I think it is important that we all realize that.
