Seeking to improve reading and writing skills? Need English/ESL Classes? We have a variety of class times and locations listed for our classes.

Did you know that those with a high school diploma or GED annually earn about $7,000 more than those without these basic skills? Get on the earning path with prep to increase knowledge in English as a Second Language or prepare for your GED exam. 

Adult Education and Literacy Programs

The Adult Education and Literacy program at Grayson College provides English language, mathematics, reading, and writing instruction to help you acquire the skills needed to succeed in the workforce, earn a high school equivalency (GED), or enter college or career training. We have a wide selection of classes available at various locations throughout Grayson, Cooke, and Fannin counties. These classes are offered FREE due to generous funding by the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC). Both day and evening classes are available for your convenience.

Who is eligible for services? If you are at least 17 years old and meet any of the following criteria, the program at Grayson College is a perfect match to assist you with meeting goals:

  • Function below the high school level
  • Lack a high school credential
  • Seeking to improve Basic Reading, Writing, Math, and Language Skills
  • Are unable to speak, read or write in English
  • Are seeking skills for the U.S. Citizenship test
  • Are seeking to enter college/career training 

Are there other requirements? To join a class, you will need to provide a valid, government-issued photo ID and complete a registration packet. Registration information and/or appointments may be made by contacting the appropriate site.

GED Exam Preparation or Refresher Classes

This program offers instruction in Language Arts/Reading, Math, Science and Social Studies. GED Testing is available each Tuesday in the GC Testing Center. Classes are forming now at each of our various locations.
