Ancient Egypt had several strong female rulers. However, most ruled as regents for young children. One female who ruled in her own right was Queen Hatshepsut, daughter of one pharaoh, wife to another, and aunt to a third. Hatshepsut took the throne of Egypt and made it her own. This presentation will cover the major aspects of her rise to power, control of that power, and her withdrawal from political control.
