Description
Are you interested in becoming a Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) working in long-term care facilities or with Home Health Agencies? This program provides a comprehensive exploration of the essential components required by the Texas Department of Health and Human Services. The curriculum covers topics such as residents' rights, effective communication, safety observation, reporting, and fundamental patient care. Special emphasis is placed on effective interaction with healthcare teams. To complete the program and qualify for the certification examination, students must concurrently enroll in both NURA 1001 (96 classroom hours) and NURA 1060 (48 clinical hours). Clinical hours are scheduled at various times, including day, evening, and weekend sessions.
See requirements below, which must be met prior to enrollment.
Included in your tuition are the required textbook, study guide, practice tests and one attempt at the licensure exam, which is non-transferable and non-refundable. Successful program completion earns a THECB recognized Occupational Skills Award and then the CNA licensure examination. Additional funding sources may be available for eligible students.
