Description

Our Coronal Polishing course, offered through the Grayson College Dental Assisting Program, is fully accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) and holds approval from the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners (TSBDE). This course equips you with the necessary knowledge and skills to earn your Coronal Polishing certificate. Special emphasis is placed on hands-on instruction.

Course Content:

  • Understanding the Benefits of Coronal Polishing
  • Principles of Coronal Polishing and the Science of Abrasion
  • Techniques for Using Slow-Speed Handpieces, Including Intraoral and Extraoral Fulcrums
  • Proper Operator and Patient Positioning Polishing Coronal Surfaces of Teeth

Admission Requirements:

Dental Assistants with a minimum of two years of experience, as determined by their employer, are eligible. No TSI or transcript requirements, and no immunization records are needed. Upon enrollment, students will be registered as Grayson College Continuing Education students, with CEUs transcripted for 8 units.

Requirements

Prior to class, students must bring the following items to class to receive certificate:

  • Sterile pack containing mouth mirror and shepherd hook explorer.
  • One unused sterilization bag for instrument return.
  • Protective eyewear.
  • Toothbrush for participant.
  • Suggested attire will be either scrubs or casual wear with lab coat.
