Dr. Erin Howard named Director of Title IX and Student Conduct
Dr. Erin Howard has been named the Director of Title IX and Student Conduct at Grayson College. She comes to Grayson College from Aubrey Middle School in Aubrey, Texas where she worked as a Middle School Counselor.
Dr. Howard holds a Doctorate in Learning Technologies from the University of North Texas, a Master’s of Science in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Sport Management, a Master’s of Science in Counseling and Development and a Master’s of Science in Teaching, Learning Theory and Curriculum from Texas Woman's University. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Child Development and Psychology from the University of North Texas.
“Dr. Howard brings a wealth of experience working with a diverse student population,” Vice President of Student Services Dr. Logan Maxwell said. “She is eager to work with students, help them navigate the collegiate experience and guide them through difficult experiences when they arise. I look forward to working with her.”
A career educator, Dr. Howard has over 25 years experience, beginning her career as a teacher in Lewisville ISD. She spent five years as the Lead Counselor at Strickland Middle School in Denton ISD and three years as an Elementary School Counselor in Plano ISD. As a counselor, she had a hand in many avenues including developing/designing websites, professional development and multimedia presentations, supervising and training staff and interns, guiding students to help them reach their goals and supervising peer counseling and tutor programs.
Howard lives in Pilot Point with her husband, Troy. They have two adult daughters, Storey and Heidy, and son-in-law Eric. They have a grandson, Dean, who they enjoy spending time with.
