Exciting Changes Ahead: Students to Move into Jones Hall as Viking Hall Transitions
As part of the ongoing campus improvements funded by the May 2024 bond, the demolition of Viking Hall, which has served Grayson College since 1965, is now set to begin earlier than initially planned due to updated construction timelines.
In order to accommodate this change, all students currently residing in Viking Hall, which houses members of athletic teams, will be relocated to Jones Hall during Spring Break beginning March 7, 2025. The consolidation will also affect some students currently housed in Jones Hall.
To support this transition, Housing staff and administration met with all resident students to discuss the process and hear concerns. The team is dedicated to support students through the transition and are working to identify solutions for storage needs as expressed by students.
“Grayson College is dedicated to providing its students with a dynamic, supportive academic environment,” Grayson College President Dr. Jeremy McMillen said. “As part of ongoing efforts to improve facilities, this construction project represents a significant step toward enhancing the campus experience for all students.”
The College appreciates the patience and cooperation of all students affected by this adjustment. While the move is an unexpected change, it is an essential part of the larger project that will bring improvements to campus housing, ensuring that Grayson College students will have access to modern, comfortable living spaces for years to come.
