How can I get more information about the program?

Do I have to have my RN license to take BSN courses?
Yes - this is a post-licensure program. We will allow you to take one course (NURS 3244) prior to having your RN license, but you must show proof of licensure to continue with BSN courses. You may take the general academic non-nursing courses in the degree plan with no RN license.
Does a student have to be accepted to the program?
Yes - admission requirements include: 1) proof of an unencumbered RN license 2) cumulative college GPA of 2.5 or greater 3) submission of Grayson College application and all college transcripts
Are classes offered every semester?
Yes - classes will be offered every Fall, Spring, and Summer.
When are students admitted to the program?
The admission process will be ongoing, with classes starting each term in the Fall, Spring, and Summer Semesters.
How long is the program?
If a student wishes to attend full-time then the program can be completed in 1 year. If a student attends part-time then the time frame will vary based on the course schedule and availability.
How many credit hours is the program?
There are a total of 120 credit hours required for the degree. A student must take 54 hours of general academic non-nursing courses, 34 hours of BSN courses, and each student will receive a credit award for 32 hours for licensure as a RN.
Do I have to maintain my RN licensue throughout the program?
Yes - each student must show proof of an unencumbered RN license while in the program.
Are clinicals required in the RN to BSN program?
This is a post-licensure program, no direct patient care clinicals will be conducted, however, some courses will require the completion of a clinical/practicum requirement.
How long is each course?
The majority of courses in the program are 8 weeks (Fall and Spring semesters), however, 2 courses in the Fall and Spring will be 16 weeks. Summer courses will also be available, and will be either 4 weeks or 8 weeks.
Is the program online?
The program is a 100% online. There are no On-Campus Requirements.
