The Texas Economic Development Council (TEDC) has announced the recipients of its annual Workforce Excellence Awards for 2017. The awards were presented at a special awards breakfast held Thursday, June 8, 2017, at the TEDC’s Mid-Year Conference in Plano, Texas.

On Jun. 6, the college will host an Adjunct Job Fair at the South Campus in Van Alstyne from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m.

4/27/2017 - Grayson College awarded NSF Grant
Grayson College has been awarded $200,000 from the National Science Foundation to address worker shortages in the advanced manufacturing sector in Texoma. The grant runs from June 1, 2017 through May 31, 2020 (estimated) and is the first NSF grant the college has received.
The Grayson College spring concert and recital series begins Apr. 25 with other concerts and recitals set for May 1 and May 3.
Grayson College has much to celebrate this year. Omicron Psi, the campus chapter of Phi Theta Kappa brought home many awards and helped its members obtain recognition and scholarships for their academic pursuits. Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society is the international honor society for two-year colleges.
Last night 200 students were recognized in the annual event held at the Life Center.
4/10/2017 - Beat the Heat 5K to benefit scholarships
The Grayson Honors College is collaborating with the Grayson County Law Enforcement Association (GCLEA) to host the Beat the Heat 5k Run/Walk benefitting local first responders on Apr. 29.
4/6/2017 - Senior Day and Cinco de Mayo
High school students will visit campus to learn more about the college and join in on Cinco de Mayo celebrations on May 5.
Grayson College and North Central Texas College played a taut affair on Wednesday, but Grayson College eventually prevailed 5-2 after taking the lead for good in the sixth inning.
Eight runs batted in from Marcella McKinney helped lead Grayson College past Hill 23-10 on Wednesday. McKinney drove in runs on a home run in the first, a grand slam in the first, and a in the third.

On Wednesday, Apr. 5 the Grayson College Veteran Services Office will host an Open House from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. and an Educational Forum from 6 p.m until 7 p.m. on the second floor of the Life Center at the Main Campus.

GCLV lost the first game but came back for the win in the second game against Ranger on Monday, Mar. 20.

2/25/2017 - Lady Vikings split two games with Carl Albert
Today the Lady Vikings played two games against Carl Albert in Rattan, Oklahoma. They won the first came 6-5 but came up short in the second game in a back-and-forth game that ended in 6-4 in favor of Carl Albert.
Grayson College defeated San Jacinto College 8-0 on Friday as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Slater Foust induced a fly out from T Schuetz to finish off the game.
On Feb. 15, GCLV swept Paris Junior College with 8-0 and 10-1 in the two game series played at home.
Lady Vikings played two games against Eastern Oklahoma State University at home on Feb. 13 and won both games.

Grayson College South Campus in Van Alstyne will serve as an early voting site for Grayson County residents. Early voting will be available Oct. 24-29, from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m., Oct. 30 from noon until 5 p.m., and Oct. 31-Nov. 4 from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. On election day, Nov. 8, both Grayson College campuses will serve as voting centers, and polls will be open from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m."

Grayson College will honor Veterans on Nov. 7 from 1 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. in the Grayson College Gymnasium.
